Introduction

Declarationof IndependenceArgentinaindependence process took place in the Independence House in 1816, a GeneralCongress gathered in Tucumán declared the independence of the United Provincesand issued the Provisional Statute of 1816, the Provisional Regulations of 1817and the Constitution of the United Provinces of South America.In December1826, a Constituent Congress passed a new Constitution of the Republic ofArgentina, rejected mainly because of disagreements about the text. In 1831,the Federal Pact was signed between Santa Fe, Buenos Aires and Entre Rios,which then joined the other provinces, which recognized the existence of astate as a republic, composed of the provinces grouped into a federation.
